Reading the green

1. Study the overall slope of the green.
2. Which way is the grass leaning? (a putt rolling with the grain will be faster than a putt against the grain.)
3. Plan your putt while others are putting.
4. Over-read on the uphill side (a ball that falls below the hole has no chance at going in).
5. Once you line up the putt focus on the distance.
