Making Sand Shots:

Clubface guidelines to use when making Sand Shots

  • Use a closed clubface for buried lies
  • Use a square clubface for hard/wet sand
  • Use a open clubface for soft sand
Making a Sand Shot from a good lie...
  1. Open your stance, aim slightly left
  2. Open the clubface
  3. Place the ball off of the left heel in stance
  4. Use a steeper than normal swing
  5. Hit the sand 2 inches behind the ball (resist the urge to dig for the ball)
  6. Follow through the swing
